Tribe’s EOC Reports 7 New COVID-19 Cases: 22 Total Active

Jan 14, 2021

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting seven (7) new cases of COVID-19 today, which makes 22 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Three (3) of our relatives have resolved since yesterday, leaving 56 family members and friends in quarantine. We continue to extend them our best wishes for a safe and speedy recovery.

The continual rise in new cases in and around Akwesasne shows that the coronavirus remains a serious threat to our community. For that reason, the EOC is urging individuals to take personal action now to prevent any further spread. If you have received quarantine or isolation orders, please remain at home and do not travel until you are released by a public health official. Do not place other people’s health at risk

The personal responsibility we take today will help us all get through this together; so please stay in your immediate household’s bubble, avoid uncontrolled gatherings, and practice the three (3) W’s when you are in public: Wear a mask, Watch your distance, and Wash your hands often.
