Tribe’s EOC Reports No New COVID-19 Cases: 4,318 Total Vaccinations

Mar 26, 2021

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 today — leaving four (4) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. One (1) relative was released from isolation and eleven (11) family members and friends remain in quarantine. Please be understanding and supportive to those who are still on their path towards a healthy and symptom-free recovery.

The Tribe’s Health Services reports this week that 4,318 doses of the COVID-19 vaccines have been administered to date; which includes 2,760 Prime (first) and 1,558 Booster (second) shots. A huge “niawenko:wa/thank you very much” is extended to all the health professionals and volunteers who helped make the vaccination process safe and efficient. For any community members interested in receiving the COVID-19 vaccine—regardless of residency—please call Health Services at (518) 333-0230. Please leave your name and a good phone number to receive a call back.

Regardless of vaccination status, individuals should continue to follow all safety protocols that were developed to keep us all safe: Wear your mask in public places. Stay at least six (6) feet apart from others who do not live in your household bubble. Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds. Do not travel outside of the 300-mile radius for non-essential reasons. The number of cases is improving, but we all need to hold the line to prevent any further spread.

Akwesasne residents and employees can still schedule a COVID-19 test by calling Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or their Massena facility at (315) 705-0700. Tests should only be taken if you have been outside of your immediate household bubble, not following protective measures, or no sooner than seven (7) days after suspected exposure to a positive case. Please keep in mind that individuals who are awaiting COVID-19 test results cannot receive a vaccination.

If you have a non-emergency matter, please call the Emergency Operations Center at (518) 320-0019; Monday-Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.
