Tribe’s EOC Reports Zero New COVID-19 Cases: 22 Quarantined

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 today, which is the first time since April 8th. Two (2) community members were released from isolation — leaving 11 total active cases in Akwesasne’s southern portion. There are now 22 family members and friends in quarantine and the number of total positive cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction was updated to 306 following the transfer of cases due to residency. Please continue to offer kindness and compassion to those who have been or continue to be impacted by COVID-19.

Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is asking individuals who are contacted by a public health worker during the process of contact tracing to please provide honest responses to all questions that are asked. There is no shame in giving truthful answers, as it helps to locate and isolate the virus to prevent further community transmissions. More importantly, it helps to safeguard other individual’s health and safety.

The Tribe’s Health Services is holding a walk-in vaccination clinic tomorrow on Thursday, April 22nd for all individuals at least 16-years old who are interested in receiving the Pfizer Vaccine. The walk-in clinic will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or while doses last) at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne. Pfizer will be the only vaccine available on this day. The vaccine clinic is open to all individuals however, 16 and 17-year-olds require a parent’s attendance.

Beginning next week, Health Services will be holding COVID-19 Walk-in Vaccine Clinics every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building. The walk-in clinic is open for all individuals 18-years or older who are interested in receiving their first dose (Prime) of the Moderna Vaccine. For those who are scheduled to receive their second dose (Booster), please attend the vaccine clinic on the date and time noted on the back of your vaccination card.
