Tribe’s Health Services Administered 6,780 Doses: 41% Vaccination Rate

AKWESASNE — Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services reports that 6,780 total vaccinations have been administered, as of June 7th. This includes 3,564 Primes, or first doses, provided to individuals of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. Additionally; 3,216 Boosters; or second doses, have been given to individuals who are now fully vaccinated. We extend them our appreciation for doing their part to keep us all healthy and safe.
Health Services reports that the vaccination rate under the Tribe’s jurisdiction is 41 percent. This represents a lower number than previously reported, as individuals 12 to 15 years old are now allowed to receive vaccinations that began on June 2, 2021. The total number of vaccinations to date are noted in the chart above.
Every new vaccination builds community immunity and helps get us one step closer to easing protective measures that remain in place. More importantly, it gets us closer to ending the pandemic and resuming those precious activities and moments that we all missed during the past year.
An Open Walk-In Vaccine Clinic is being held every Wednesday, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne. All individuals ages 12 years or older can attend, but keep in mind that minors require a parent to be present. Individuals who are 18 years and older and receive the Moderna Vaccine will be entered into a drawing to win prizes: including a 70” Flat Screen TV, $250 BJ’s Gift Card, or a 1-Night Stay in Lake Placid with Zipline tickets! Those who receive the COVID-19 vaccine will also get a voucher for a FREE Sub, courtesy of Subway located in the Speedway Plaza at 935 State Route 37.
All minors 12 to 17-year-olds who receive the Pfizer Vaccine will be entered into a drawing to win one (1) of two (2) $250 Apple Gift Cards, which is scheduled to be drawn on Wednesday, June 9th.
