SRMT Reports 71.5% Vaccination Rate

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services reported a 71.5% vaccination rate for eligible residents of the Akwesasne community; as of March 2, 2022. Since the last vaccination report on February 21st; an additional 63 doses have been administered to individuals age 5-years old or more.
There are 1,963 individuals who remain unvaccinated due to age, medical condition, or personal choice; as well as 2,408 clients awaiting their third shot (or Booster) to receive the full protection against being hospitalized due to COVID-19. We ask that they please follow through and get their Booster shot.
With the majority of Health Services clients fully vaccinated and the low number of doses being administered, the weekly vaccination clinic that was being held at the former-IGA Building has been moved to the clinic’s main campus at 404 State Route 37. The weekly vaccine clinic will continue to take place on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. No appointment is needed.
For Akwesasne residents who choose to get vaccinated, they continue to be eligible to win $1,000 at each 5% vaccine milestone. With the current vaccination rate of 71.5%, the next milestone drawing will take place when we reach 75%. Five names will be drawn live on Akwesasne TV’s Facebook page and announced after consent is provided. To date, 25 residents have won $1,000 each for choosing to keep themselves, their loved ones, and the overall community safe from COVID-19.
