Tribal EOC Reports 11 New COVID-19 Cases: 5 Total Active

Feb 15, 2022

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported 11 new positive cases of COVID-19 between February 11-15, 2022. Some of the new cases have been released from isolation -- leaving five (5) total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Three (3) active cases include individuals 4-years old or younger, who are not yet eligible to get vaccinated. We send them our warmest thoughts and prayers for a safe recovery.

The Emergency Operations Center and Health Services are kindly reminding individuals that masks are still required in all public places under the jurisdiction of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. We ask for your continued cooperation and to properly wear a mask over your mouth and NOSE when visiting or patronizing public establishments. Your support is greatly appreciated and contributes towards our tireless efforts to protect those who remain unvaccinated.

Health Services conducted a milestone incentive drawing on February 10th after surpassing the 70% vaccination rate -- currently 70.8%. Congratulations and a huge “Niawen:kówa/Thank you very much” to Karakwatiron Barreiro, Justin Delormier, Roseanne White, Camren Oakes, and Kanerahtiio Peters. Five (5) names will continue to be drawn at each 5% increment to win $1,000 each for choosing to protect themselves, their loved ones, and the overall community.

Health Services is also holding an Open Walk-in Vaccine Clinic for individuals ages 12 years or more on Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the former-IGA Building, located at 850 State Route 37. Flu shots are available at the open clinic.

A vaccine clinic is also being held on Fridays by appointment only from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the clinic’s main campus. To schedule an appointment, please call (518) 358-3142.

For community members who receive the COVID-19 vaccine outside of Akwesasne, please report your vaccination to the Tribe’s Outreach Program by calling (518) 333-0230.
