Tribal EOC Reports 27 New COVID-19 Cases: 4 Total Active

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center and Health Services reported 27 new cases of COVID-19 in Akwesasne’s southern portion from February 28th to March 7th. The majority of reported cases have completed their five-day isolation period, but there remains four (4) active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. The active cases include two (2) children between the ages of 5 to 11-years old, one (1) teenager between the ages of 12 to 17, and one (1) community member over the age of 18. Please join in wishing them all the very best for a safe and complication-free recovery.


With 71.5% of eligible residents fully vaccinated, the weekly vaccination clinic that was being held at the former-IGA Building has been moved to the clinic’s main campus at 404 State Route 37. The weekly vaccine clinic will continue to take place on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. No appointment is needed.


Health Services is conducting COVID-19 PCR testing on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or while supplies last) at their main campus located at 404 State Route 37. Please use the road located across from the intersection of State Route 37 and McGee Road and follow the signs for clinic’s testing garage.

Akwesasne residents and employees can also schedule a FREE COVID-19 PCR or Rapid Molecular test by contacting Mountain Medical at the following locations on Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

On Tuesdays, Health Services is distributing COVID-19 Home Test Kits at no cost from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or while supplies last) at the clinic’s testing garage located at 404 State Route 37. Community members will receive either the BinaxNow COVID-19 Antigen Self Kit or the QuickVue At-Home OTC COVID-19 Test. Please use the gravel road across from McGee Road and follow the signs.

Individuals who test positive using a COVID-19 Home Test Kit are asked to self-report test results to St. Lawrence County Public Health at (315) 386-2325, SRMT Contact Tracers at (518) 333-0230, or Franklin County Public Health. An online form is available on the Franklin County website to self-report at https://bit.ly/3njGiRa. Positive cases are also being asked to please provide notification to individuals who may have been potentially exposed.
