AKWESASNE – (Seskehkó:wa/September 25, 2025) The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribal Council notifies community non-profit organizations the deadline to submit proposals for the Tribal Opioid Settlement Funds for Fiscal Year 2026 has been extended to Kenténha/October 1, 2025 at 4:00 p.m.
On Seskéha/August 29, 2025, SRMT Tribal Council notified community non-profit organizations that is it accepting proposals for settlement funds for Fiscal Year 2026 with a deadline of Seskehkó:wa /September 30, 2025. Due to Every Child Matters Day Closure on September 30th, a one-day extension has been granted for prospective non-profit community organizations to submit proposals.
In accordance with settlement terms, the funds received shall support programs on an approved list of abatement strategies; and also, for culturally appropriate activities that are aimed at remediating the opioid epidemic’s impact on the Akwesasne community. The terms recognize that tribal communities possess unique cultural practices that play an important role in the health and wellbeing of tribal members.
In accordance with the settlement terms, specifically for culturally appropriate activities that are aimed at remediating the opioid epidemic’s impact on the Akwesasne community, community non-profit organizations wishing to submit proposals for FY 2026 (January 1-December 31, 2026) must provide a cover letter and accompanying budget narrative by the deadline of to Kenténha/October 1, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. in person to:
