Summary: The Court Clerk is responsible for providing clerical and administrative support in the daily operations of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Judiciary. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following: 

  • Request, receive and process all paperwork relative to court cases.
  • Create and maintain electronic and hard copy case files.
  • Prepare letters, summonses, notices, and court correspondence as directed.
  • Assist with notifications of all court appearances.
  • Provide non-legal assistance to court users, including making and providing copies of case files.
  • Enter all tickets and generate and collect fines, fees, and issue receipts.
  • Manage appeals from the initial filing through issuance of final order.
  • Work cooperatively with other tribal employees and entities.
  • Answer and respond to telephone, emails, and inquiries at the front window.
  • All other related duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: There are no supervisor requirements for this position. 

 

Qualification Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess good written and oral communication skills; have strong interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; ability to prioritize and organize as well as plan and manage multiple assignments efficiently and effectively.

 

Education and/or Experience: 

  • Associates Degree (AA/AS)

OR

  • Comparable education and/or  a combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • One year or more of experience in an office setting is PREFERRED

 

Other Skills and Abilities: Strong oral and written communication skills required. Must have excellent computer skills, as well as:
