Akwesasne Travel Presents the 4th Annual Art Market & Juried Show

Summer has officially arrived, and with it, the 4th Akwesasne Art Market & Juried Art Show. The North Country’s largest event for Indigenous culture and arts is returning as a two-day event featuring over 100 mohawk artists and vendors, performances, and artist demonstrations. The Juried Art Show will take place at the Akwesasne Casino Resort on Friday, July 25, featuring an artist reception, and a sneak peek at the 2025 Akwesasne Indigenous Fashion Show. The market will be hosted the following day, Saturday, July 26, at Generations Park Amphitheatre for visitors to experience Akwesasne through contemporary Indigenous art and culture.

“We are excited to celebrate another year of Akwesasne’s vibrant art and culture scene,” said Economic Development Director Dwayne Thomas. “We’ve expanded the programming to facilitate the growing interest in learning more about our people, culture, and what makes us proud to be a part of this community.”

The first day of the Juried Art Show & Art Market kicks off at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort with an artist reception followed by a ceremony awarding honors, and the first look at the upcoming Akwesasne Indigenous Fashion Show. The prestigious 2025 "Best of Show" award and honors across 12 categories will be announced, with more than $13,000 to be awarded.

Take in the beauty of the park as artists showcase their creations and demonstrate traditional and contemporary cultural art practices. The highly anticipated Amphitheatre will serve as a backdrop to an exciting lineup of performances, including hoop dancer and aerialist Feryn King, the Crosswinds Band featuring legendary fiddler Jake Adams, and award-winning artist Bear Fox and Kontiwennenhá:wi- Akwesasne Women Singers. Enjoy demonstrations and hands-on activities including Haudenosaunee social songs and dancing, a Smoke Dance exhibition by the Native North American Traveling College, traditional Mohawk basket making, sweetgrass braiding, and log pounding. A special Youth Art Show display, a partnership with the Akwesasne Boys and Girls Club (ABGC) will feature creations from Akwesasne’s youngest artists.

The art market is open to the public, parking and admission is free! Generations Park has ADA-Compliant and handicap parking available. A free shuttle service will be provided for the duration of the art market with a pick-up at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort and drop-off at Generations Park.
