The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (SRMT) Environment Division is proud to announce the new ‘Akwesasne Family Guide to Eating Locally Caught Fish’. The development of the guide was made possible from a Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) grant to work in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) to seek input from the community to improve communication about the risks and benefits of eating locally caught fish.
This new guide incorporates the most recent fish contaminant date from the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence River and was designed specifically for the Akwesasne community for all families.
