The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe proudly celebrates the outstanding academic achievements of Sadie Pearl Fent, Massena High School Class of 2026 Salutatorian, who earned an impressive 100.86 GPA as a full International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma student.
Sadie is the daughter of Keri Cooke and Bill Fent, and sister to Sebastian Fent. Her grandparents are Tom and Debbie Cooke of Akwesasne, and Brian and Debbie Fent, and great-granddaughter of Frieda “Beverly” Barney.
Sadie has demonstrated excellence in academics, sports, and extracurricular activities, serving on many clubs, athletic teams, and earning research scholarships and recognition for outstanding leadership. Sadie served as president of the National Honor Society and On the Mend— an initiative that supports education and fundraising for mental health, a member of the Link Crew mentorship program, a Mohawk Club leader, and serves as the Interact Club Treasurer. She received research scholarships from both Tufts University and the University of Rochester, was awarded the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award— recognizing outstanding leadership and academic achievement, and earned the Seal of Biliteracy in French. Sadie also participated on the varsity rifle, swimming and spring track team. This past winter, she earned the rank of Eagle Scout through Scouting America, making her the first woman to achieve this feat in Massena and Akwesasne. Following graduation, Sadie plans to attend Brown University to study the Environmental Sciences.
