AKWESASNE – (Ohiaríhko:wa/July 26, 2025) Akwesasne Travel celebrated the winners of the 2025 Juried Art Show with a public artist reception, awards ceremony, and an exclusive preview of the Akwesasne Indigenous Fashion Show—all hosted at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort and Hotel.
Karhatiron Perkins earned this year’s prestigious Best in Show award for his striking Lunch on a Highbeam. The bronze and metal-cast sculpture honors Haudenosaunee ironworkers, its figures depicting each of the nine clans of the Haudenosaunee.
Awards were given across 12 categories, including two youth divisions and three “Juror’s Choice” selections. All works were created by Akwesasne Mohawk artists and included a wide range of both contemporary and traditional pieces.
