The SRMT Environment Division Remediation and Restoration (R&R) Program and its licensed contractors will be demolishing and removing one abandoned structure the week of April 6-10, 2026 and another abandoned structure April 15-23, 2026. These buildings were deemed unsafe to enter for asbestos testing. In an abundance of caution, the buildings will be removed as if they contain asbestos. The structures are located on Pearl St. and Rooseveltown Road. The sites under demolition will be clearly marked with signs and appropriate measures will be taken to ensure the safety of surrounding homes and businesses.
