Planning + Infrastructure: Streetlight Request Process

AKWESASNE — (Ohiarí:ha/June 29, 2026) The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Planning + Infrastructure (P+I) Division is providing notification to the community on the process to request a streetlight for public roads located in the Tribe’s jurisdiction with a fully executed Road Maintenance agreement.
 

To request a streetlight, community members are directed to contact Brent Herne, Transportation Manager or Lilly McDonald, Administrative Assistant. Following the initial contact period, P+I will conduct a site visit to determine whether or not a street light is warranted at the proposed location. Once the site visit is complete, and all criteria are met, the location will be placed on a priority list for purchase and installation of a LED streetlight, pending available funding.
