AKWESASNE – (Onerahtóhka/April 9, 2026) The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe announces the non-tribal member fishing season opening June 1st to October 10th. To ensure everyone enjoys the SRMT waters responsibly, the fishing regulations and requirements must be adhered to.

Non-members wishing to fish in SRMT waters must obtain a valid SRMT fishing permit. Fishing permits are required for all non-members accessing SRMT waters for fishing activities, including catch and release or sport fishing.

"SRMT jurisdiction" includes the Southern waters of the St. Lawrence River and its affluents, including the St. Regis River, and the Raquette River. This also includes the areas where these waterways merge with the St. Lawrence River upstream within the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe's jurisdiction. A season permit is $50.00 and a 3-day permit is $25.00.

In accordance with TCR-2023-42, individuals seeking to operate charter fishing boats or act as fishing guides within the Tribe's waters must apply for a permit and comply with specified requirements and conditions within their registered jurisdiction. The fee for a non-member guide is $250.00 per season.

Permits are available for purchase at the following locations: in person or by phone through the Compliance Department, as well as at Adams Marina, The St. Lawrence Musky Shop, and Tight Lines Tackle Shop in Cornwall, ON.
