SRMT Reports One New Active COVID-19 Case, Three Total Active Cases

AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center reported one (1) new active case of COVID-19 today — making three (3) active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. A total of 73 positive cases have been reported by the Tribe’s EOC since the first case was reported on March 28, 2020.

Community members are urged to remain vigilant and avoid gatherings in uncontrolled environments; including parties at private households where there is no mask requirement or social distancing. With Thanksgiving now eight (8) days past, individuals may be in their asymptomatic stage and infectious, despite not exhibiting symptoms.

Individuals should monitor symptoms and contact their health provider if you develop a sustained fever of 100.4 degree or more, shortness of breath, coughing, and fatigue or muscle aches. A loss of taste or smell is also being reported as an associated symptom.

COVID-19 Testing Availability

FREE COVID-19 Drive-Thru Test Clinic resumes at the former-IGA Building on December 8th, 15th, and 16th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or until tests are gone. The drive-thru test collection is available for all Akwesasne residents and non-member employees of local businesses and school. Individuals are encouraged to get tested or retested.
