The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s (“SRMT”) Election Board has been made aware of various absentee ballot issues. Beginning April 28, 2025, eligible voters could start requesting absentee ballots with a deadline of May 28, 2025. Currently, absentee ballots that were requested have not been received by eligible voters via the United State Postal Service (USPS). Unfortunately, the Election Board is unable to accommodate the various requests of resending absentee ballots due to the time constraints of the SRMT Election Day on June 7, 2025. Due to this newly discovered issue, the Election Board is allowing individuals who have not received their absentee ballots to cast their vote in-person or request in-home voting, if they qualify.
For those who requested an absentee ballot but have not received and wish to vote in-person or in home, an affirmation form will need to be completed attesting they have not received their requested absentee ballot. This will be provided at the time of voting.
Early voting is available Wednesday, June 4th and Thursday, June 5th, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In-home voting for individuals who are home bound (Home bound eligible voters residing on the Saint Regis Mohawk Reservation, as defined by the Treaty of 1796) on June 6, 2025. The Election Board will be extending the deadline of in-home voting to Thursday, June 5, 2025, by 12:00 p.m. Please contact the Tribal Clerk Office to sign up.
Curb-side voting is available to those who are voting either on early voting date or on Election Day.
The Board will be reviewing the issues brought to our attention by the community and will work to ensure to have corrections for future elections. Any further questions should be directed to
