AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center is reporting one (1) new case of COVID-19 in the southern portion of Akwesasne. We are pleased that one (1) community member has been released from isolation however, eighteen (18) total active cases remain under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. There also remains forty-two (42) family members and friends in quarantine at home to prevent any further spread. We wish them all a safe and complication-free recovery.
Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is asking individuals who are contacted during the process of contact tracing to please provide a good telephone number and honest responses to all questions. There is no shame in giving truthful answers, as it helps to locate and isolate the virus to prevent further transmissions. More importantly, a good telephone number provided during testing helps public health representatives to contact you to protect the health and safety of yourself and others.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is currently reviewing a request to expand the Pfizer Vaccine for children ages 12 to 15 years old as soon as next week. In anticipation of the FDA granting approval, the Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is currently taking registrations. Please call (518) 333-0230 to sign up your child and be contacted when the Pfizer vaccine becomes available for that age group.

Those who are fully vaccinated through the Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services are encouraged to call Outreach at (518) 358-3141 Ext. 7246 or email Rebecca.lauber@srmt-nsn.gov to be registered into the New York State Immunization Information System for applying for the Excelsior Pass. Please provide your name, date of birth, your mother’s first and maiden name, phone number, and physical home address. The Excelsior Pass is a smartphone app that provides a free, fast and secure way to present digital proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test results required for gaining entry to businesses, major stadiums and arenas, special events and other venues across New York State.
COVID-19 WALK-IN VACCINE CLINICS – FRIDAY, MAY 7TH (PFIZER)
For 16 and 17-year olds who are interested in receiving the Pfizer Vaccine, a Walk-in Vaccine clinic will be held on Friday, May 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building. You may also contact Health Services to schedule an appointment by calling (518) 333-0230. Please leave your name and phone number for a health worker to contact you. A parent must be present for the appointment. Vaccinated 16 and 17-year olds will be entered into a drawing to win a $250 Apple Gift Card!
Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is conducting COVID-19 Walk-in Moderna Vaccine Clinics every Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne. The walk-in clinic is open for all individuals 18-years or older who are interested in receiving their first dose (Prime) of the Moderna Vaccine. Anybody 18 years and older who choose to be vaccinated will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win prizes including: 70” Flat Screen TV, $250 BJ’s Gift Cards, 1-Night Stay in Lake Placid with Zipline tickets!
COVID-19 TEST COLLECTION — DAILY @ HEALTH SERVICES
Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services will be conducting COVID-19 PCR Test Collection Clinics at their main campus located at 404 State Route 37 in Akwesasne, NY. Their new testing facility is located between the Tribe’s Food Distribution and Maintenance Garage. A drive-thru format will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., or while test kits last, Monday through Friday for all community members and employees of the Tribe, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Akwesasne businesses, and school districts.
Akwesasne residents and employees can also schedule a COVID-19 test by contacting Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Massena at (315) 705-0700. The PCR Test is free however, requests to receive a Rapid Test is at the individual’s expense. Please note that individuals who awaiting test results cannot receive a vaccination.
