AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center is reporting one (1) new case of COVID-19 today in Akwesasne’s southern portion. Five (5) community members have been released from isolation however, seven (7) total active cases remain under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. There was no change in the number of family members and friends still in quarantine, which is 22. We offer them best wishes for a safe and complication-free recovery, as well as express appreciation to those who are doing their own part helping to keep our community’s case numbers low.
COVID-19 WALK-IN VACCINE CLINIC – EVERY WEDNESDAY
Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is conducting a COVID-19 Walk-in Moderna Vaccine Clinic every Wednesday beginning on Wednesday, April 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the former-IGA Building located at 850 State Route 37 in Akwesasne. The walk-in clinic is open for all individuals 18-years or older who are interested in receiving their first dose (Prime) of the Moderna Vaccine.
For 16 and 17-year old who are interested in receiving the Pfizer Vaccine, please call Health Services to schedule an appointment by calling (518) 333-0230. Please leave your name, brief message, and a good telephone number for a health worker to contact you. A parent must be present for the appointment.
COVID-19 TEST COLLECTION – MOUNTAIN MEDICAL URGENT CARE
Akwesasne residents and employees can schedule a COVID-19 test by contacting Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Massena at (315) 705-0700. The PCR Test is free however, requests to receive a Rapid Test is at the individual’s expense.
Health Services is reminding individuals who are returning to Akwesasne from beyond the Tribe’s 300-mile travel radius that they must quarantine for ten (10) and get tested no sooner than seven (7) days after their return. Individuals who had a suspected exposure to a positive case should also get tested no sooner than seven (7) days after an exposure.
