AKWESASNE — The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center is reporting one (1) new case of COVID-19 today under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. We are pleased that 11 community members have been released from isolation however, eight (8) total active cases remain in the southern portion of Akwesasne. There also remains 24 family members and friends in quarantine at home and following guidance from public health. We wish them all a safe and complication-free recovery.
Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services reports that 6,246 total vaccinations have been administered, as of May 5th. This includes 3,106 Prime, or first doses, provided to individuals of the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines. Additionally; 3,140 Boosters; or second doses, have been given to individuals who chose to receive the vaccine, which represents an increase of 336 individuals who are now fully vaccinated. We extend them our appreciation for doing their part to keep our community healthy and safe.

Those who are fully vaccinated through the Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services are encouraged to call Outreach at (518) 358-3141 Ext. 7246 or email Rebecca.lauber@srmt-nsn.gov to be registered into the New York State Immunization Information System to apply for the Excelsior Pass. Please provide your name, date of birth, your mother’s first and maiden name, phone number, and physical home address. The Excelsior Pass is a smartphone app that provides a free, fast and secure way to present digital proof of your COVID-19 vaccination, or negative test results, and is being used for gaining entry to businesses, major stadiums and arenas, special events and other venues across New York State.
COVID-19 TEST COLLECTION — DAILY @ HEALTH SERVICES
Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services is conducting COVID-19 PCR Test Collection Clinics Monday thru Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at their main campus located at 404 State Route 37 in Akwesasne, NY. Their new testing facility is a drive-thru format located between the Tribe’s Food Distribution and Maintenance Garage. It is available for all community members and employees of the Tribe, Mohawk Council of Akwesasne, Akwesasne businesses, and school districts.
Akwesasne residents and employees can also schedule a COVID-19 test by contacting Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Malone at (518) 521-3322 or Mountain Medical Urgent Care in Massena at (315) 705-0700. The PCR Test is free however, requests to receive a Rapid Test is at the individual’s expense. Please note that individuals who awaiting test results cannot receive a vaccination.
