- The program has a goal of raising 40 – 50 piglets throughout the year to provide local and fresh pork through a partnership with Bittersweet-Milkweed Collaborative farm located in Huevelton, NY.
- How does the pigs share work? Customers sign up with the Agriculture Program and are sent a cutting sheet. Once the customer chooses the types of cuts, the cutting sheets are returned to the Program. Next, customers will pay $150.00 for the share at the SRMT Finance Department. The Agriculture Program transports the pigs to Tri-Town meat processing and customers pay the processing fees upon pickup. Processing fees typically range from $80.00 - $120.00 depending on the size of the pig.
- When shares are available? Keep an eye on the SRMT Programs and Services Facebook page for new shares. Announcements are also shared on CKON.
- During the Akwesasne Farmer’s Market, the Agriculture Program will have meat packages available that include a variety of pork products with your choice sausage.
