SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the A/CDP Inpatient Coordinator, the Partridge House Senior Counselor will assist the Inpatient Coordinator with all clinical and programmatic aspects of the treatment program. This includes implementing philosophy, therapeutic treatment, along with education, training and mentoring of staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Clinical Responsibilities

· The Senior Counselor will be responsible for the supervision of the clinical operations in regards to implementation of program philosophy, therapeutic treatment and education for the staff and clients.

· The Senior Counselor will develop a training plan to help clinical staff become certified as Credential Alcohol Chemical Dependency Counselors.

· The Senior Counselor will be responsible for the clinical supervision, training and mentoring of all clinical staff.

· The Senior Counselor will develop and implement a family education program to be available for all clients and their families.

Administrative Responsibilities:

· Collaborate with the Inpatient Program Coordinator in maintaining compliance with NYS OASAS regulations, and SRMT Health Services personnel manual.

· Collaborate with the team with the referral process for clients seeking to enter inpatient treatment at Partridge House.

· The Senior Counselor will develop and implement an educational lecture series.

· Coordinate regular staff meetings and supervisory sessions.

· Assist with facilitating weekly Case Consultation meetings.

· Assist with overseeing and maintaining clinical staff leave and ADP payroll.

· In the absence of the Inpatient Program Coordinator, the Senior Counselor will be responsible for administrative coverage.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The Partridge House Senior Counselor will be responsible for the supervision of the clinical staff.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

- Applicants must be a CASAC, AND

- (2) two years’ experience in the provision of alcoholism/chemical dependency services.

- (1) one additional year of clinical supervisory experience preferred.

- Knowledge of special treatment needs of Native Americans, understand alcoholism/chemical dependency as a disease, of a 12-step based treatment approach and prevention strategies preferred.

- Should have (2) two years sobriety (in a recovery program) for recovering person.

REASONING ABILITY: The ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing as appropriate for the audience so others will understand. Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract in accordance with the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Fleet Policy.

The successful candidate must pass a test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed.

The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check prior to employment.

A list of qualified candidates is created from interviews that may be used for Emergency Hire individuals to similar positions within the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe for a period of six months.
